Oh, the temptation! Eternal youth in exchange for your everlasting soul... Faust is an evolved enough scholar to be able to look past the drawbacks of a dance with the devil and embrace the deliciousness of the here and now, the inevitable consequences be damned. Charles Gounod's impassioned opera will be sung by the North Carolina Opera in French with English subtitles and is staged with original video by director James Marvel. Internationally celebrated tenor Dimitri Pittas and acclaimed "honeyed soprano" Mary Dunleavy carry the lead roles of Dr. Faust and Marguerite. —Christina Cass
