Fat Cheek Kat, Lefty Williams Band

When: Fri., Sept. 4, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: free
Fat Cheek Kat might as well be The Pour House’s de facto house band. The Triad-based outfit has often set up shop on Blount Street throughout the year, including a monthlong residency this summer. They pair ’70s funk, soul and rock covers with laid-back, long-winded jams that are layered with horn blasts, organ swells and fret fireworks. One-armed Georgia guitar slinger Lefty Williams leads his Southern rock combo in the opening slot, serving up bluesy licks during fun, accessible tunes. —Spencer Griffith
