Re: “Durham Central Park School Teacher Responds to 'Daily Caller' Hit Piece

DHooley: I sincerely doubt that first grade children organized a march. Most of these children are learning to read. Some of these kids are bringing changes of clothes to school. The level of communication and intricacy to organize a march requires an adult. What it seems like to me is like a teacher who portrays themselves as controversial has used six year old children as a tool to promote a cause she is interested in. Innocent children are being put in harms way at a march and a rally for black lives matter held at Durham Central Park without the parents consent. If these children were so into it as the teacher claims the parents would have known sooner.

I dont know if you have kids but they talk about everything and all the time. If these kids were truly interested it would have poured over into the home and been a source of dinnertable discussion.

The fact is this: Six year old children were forced to participate in a black lives matter march against the will of some of the parents who werent even asked for consent. The teacher is now using them as a shield claiming it was "all their idea" and taking no responsibility for the lives and minds she is in charge of. She should be fired and she should lose her license to teach.

I think the other teachers who did not allow their students to go to this rally were very smart. Two charges I can see here real quick: Kidnapping and Reckless Endangerment. This would blanket the school as a whole. Which is sad. I like charter schools. I was in a charter school when they first opened. I know many of the people who made charter schools happen personally. The actions of this teacher deserve discipline. Its very very simple.

Re: “Durham Central Park School Teacher Responds to 'Daily Caller' Hit Piece

It saddens me that these children were taken to a political march with a group whose previous marches have ended in deaths and bloodshed without their parents consent. Period. It deeply saddens me these children were put at risk but im glad they are safe.
