Etiolated, RBT, The Hag, Pallor

When: Mon., April 20, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: free
Blown-out metal for this bleary-eyed 420 holiday, right? In March, Raleigh’s Etiolated issued the single “Monument to Self Destruction,” a compelling document of the band’s growth. Shifting between low-tone doom, high-speed black metal and a bit of spoken-word menace that recalls Slint, the song suggests emerging intrigue. With drums, bass and exasperated vocals, Asheville’s Pallor offers claustrophobic fits and shrieks of anger. —Grayson Haver Currin
