Erin McDermott

When: Sat., June 15, 6 p.m. 2013

Small-town Vermont is a nice place to glean a few stories, but the stages there weren't quite enough for singer-songwriter Erin McDermott, who recently put down roots in Nashville. Traveling back and forth for years had made for good road songs and impressive connections, leading to an all-star cast of instrumentalist friends and collaborators including famed fiddler Stuart Duncan, lauded guitarist Bryan Sutton and bluegrass favorite Tim O'Brien. Her 2011 disc Time to Go put them to work on a range of tunes that run from gritty barnburners to grass-pop. —Ashley Melzer
