Eilen Jewell (Back Room)

When: Tue., Sept. 15, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $16-$20
Idaho’s Eilen Jewell has long excelled at accessorizing her Americana tunes with hints of rockabilly that add intrigue. Her new Sundown Over Ghost Town adds more flourishes, from the slinking “Here With Me” to the shuffling “Rio Grande,” which benefits from mariachi trumpet. Her songwriting, too, has stayed strong. “I stood next to the tracks just to feel something pushing back,” from “Hallelujah Band,” is one of many lines meant to raise the hair on the back of your neck. —Allison Hussey
