Duke Family Weekend Concerts

When: Fri., Oct. 30 2015
Duke has assembled a wealth of cultural programming for its 2015 Family Weekend, including a pair of killer shows to show off the newly renovated Baldwin Auditorium. The powerhouse Duke jazz and djembe ensembles take the stage with drummer, composer and producer Terri Lyne Carrington on Friday (8 p.m.), while the Duke Chorale, Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony showcase the student-body talent on Saturday (8 p.m.). The weekend also features several performances by a cappella ensembles. Rhythm and Blue, Duke’s award-winning co-ed group, and Out of the Blue, the school’s longest-running female group, square off Friday in Page Auditorium while The Pitchforks, the two-time CARA Award-winner for Best Male Collegiate Album in the nation, perform two matinees Saturday in Page. —Chris Vitiello
