Dr. Copter, Dark Water Rising, Kylie Odetta, Bobby Bryson, Zak Domogalla, Mark Cloos

When: Fri., Oct. 17, 8 p.m. 2014
Price: $6-$10
The birthday party of Raleigh scene booster, Deep South employee and nclocalmusic.com founder Andy Washburn, AndyPalooza fits six ambitious acts into one bill. Songwriters Zak Domogalla, Mark Cloos and Bobby Bryson all take varied approaches to being a guy with a guitar, alternating between influences of Coldplay, Jason Mraz and Ryan Adams. Dark Water Rising provides deep harmonies over austere folk-rock, while Kylie Odetta aims to step into Lorde’s spotlight. Most interesting might be Dr. Copter, a jubilant prog trio with deep rhythms and sharp guitar narration. —Grayson Haver Currin
