Re: “The Region Needs Light Rail and People Need to Stay Out of Jail

Charging inmates for commissary items is simply the result of insecure, pencil dicked, pea brained fascist pigs who cheat on their taxes and their wives trying to feel superior for a change.

Re: “Old West Durham Residents Are Battling Over the Soul of Their Neighborhood

The people with money control the world. The rest of us have little, if any, say in the matter. The NPO will fail, Mon-strosities will prevail, property taxes will soar, and retirees on fixed incomes who own their homes will be forced to sell to greedy, indifferent developers due to inability to pay the exorbitant taxes. God Bless America and the rich pricks for which it stands.

Re: “Deo Vindice! Some Confederate-Friendly Readers Sound Off on Judge Fred Battaglia

Grayson Allen has been singled out due to his repetitive and demonstrable acts of unsportsmanlike conduct. Attempts to divert attention and normalize his repulsive behavior are an insult to the myriad of athletes who compete on a regular basis and have developed enough of a sense of sportsmanship and integrity to resist the impulse to behave like spoiled rotten brats. Any person who behaves like he has deserves condemnation regardless of his team, sport, or level of competition. Draymond Green does the same crap in the NBA by kicking opponents in their gonads and it is equally disgusting. Speaking of the NBA, if Allen tries his BS with the big boys he will end up in the dentist's chair having his partial plate installed. And I truly hope to see that day.

Re: “Javiera Caballero Wants One Durham City Council Meeting to Be in Spanish, So English-Speakers Know What It’s Like

The idea of having a city hall meeting in Spanish is a ludicrous concept based on flawed logic and as such will never happen. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Re: “How Much Should Durham Pay to Help Homeowners After a Developer Went Bust?

Typical bureaucratic BS. The burdens of the rich are borne on the backs of the less fortunate. Good thing they decided to gouge us in terms of property taxes every four years instead of sticking with the more traditional eight. That way you can waste our money on whatever elite programs you want and then balance the budget on OUR backs every four years. Just think of the interest you will save. Not to mention how it will speed up the gentrification process. Eliminate Section 8 housing. Check. Eliminate subsidized housing. Check. Then get rid of hard working homeowners who have been here for decades if not centuries by placing tax values on the houses they own above their meager means. I would imagine that it is especially gratifying if they are living on a fixed income. Screw those geriatrics good!! Hopefully tantrums by the self-entitled trust fund babies at Duke will be avoided by gently placing in their laps what us inferior beings have worked our entire lives to earn. We live to serve you. Way to go city council!! Congratulations on your shameless, blatant, and indifferent pandering. You guys are the best!!

Re: “In a Mid-Century Raleigh Neighborhood, New Mansions Are Built So High They Block Out the Sun

No need to worry. The exorbitant increases in property taxes due to gentrification and McMansion mentality will run them out of their home before the lack of vitamin D affects their health. Thank God all of the Yankees decided to move South. Retching and vomiting.

Re: “Durham’s New Parking Meters Are Confusing. We’re Here to Help.

When I hear the echo chamber justification for exchanging free parking for metered spaces, "something virtually every fast-growing city eventually decides to do", I am reminded of the old sayings I heard over and over again as a child. "If someone else jumps off of a cliff are you going to follow them?" "Two wrongs don't make a right." Just to name a couple.

As you might can tell I am adamantly opposed to the metered parking. They say that "the stated goal hasn't been to raise money but rather to increase turnover of in-demand on-street parking spaces downtown." What a bad joke. If that is the objective, put time limits on parking spaces and issue citations. You can use the same personnel that will be used to monitor the metered spots. And you can price the citations to make up for the money you "weren't trying to make." If you want to grub for money, don't lie about it. That makes it even more pathetic and dishonest to boot.
