Re: “Durham City Council votes unanimously to keep current ordinance banning digital billboards

"why does Durham have digital computers? What was wrong with typewriters?"

huh? i'm not sure what that means unless it implies that durham has set precedent in moving forward with digital technology, and is now somehow hypocritical in rejecting digital billboards. if that is the case, it might help to remember that the computers used manage our city's data do not sit on top of fifty foot poles, flashing 24 hours a day, generating revenue that does not stay in durham while creating no jobs, and providing insignificant tax revenue for the city. i appreciate the digital technology that the city embraces because it makes my life easier. i cannot pay my water bill online with a flashing billboard. just sayin'......

Re: “Museum of Life and Science board chimes in on billboard issue

forget the blight of the billboards for a moment..but only for a moment...the methods that Fairway uses should be evidence enough that they do not deserve to do business here. the PAC vote was a railroaded joke, did not represent the people, and contained at least one illegal vote. but the vote was publicized as support from PAC for overturning the ban. it was a complete miscarriage of PAC's goals. keep the ban in place.
