Dough Keith

When: Wed., July 28, 7:30 p.m. 2010
Price: Free

A former punk rocker and sometime experimental musician who performs radio-ready Americana under his own name, New York's Dough Keith is proof that, sometimes, the best move is the safe move. His dry but expressive voice crackles faintly as he tackles quarter-life crises with reassuring warmth. Keith's easygoing but well-crafted songs are an uplifting escape. John Harrison and Reid Johnson—from, respectively, North Elementary and Schooner—should provide some comfortable pop hooks in the opening sets. —Jordan Lawrence
