Re: “The Triangle Has Lots of Great Hiking Trails. Here Are Seven of Our Favorites.

Good idea, Indy.
Poor execution.

Re: “N.C. Senate Has Crazy New Scheme to Avoid Cleaning Up Jordan Lake, Would Repeal Protective Buffers Along Waterways

The NC Legislature is doing everything that it can think of to promote the interests of their developer friends upstream. By ignoring the threat that unrestricted runoff poses to clean drinking water and buying into half-assed schemes without any foundation in science, they can effectively deplete the Clean Water Management Trust Fund without leaving behind any evidence that it was ever a useful source of funds. As such, that money can be put toward essential tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.
Same thing they did with education and transportation. "See? Spending money ain't working. So we'll just not spend money on that any more."
Just clever enough to bamboozle about half of the North Carolina electorate.

Re: “Bernie Sanders’ political revolution is only impossible if you don’t believe

I'm not a millenial, my sons are.
Ever since Gene and then Bobby initially won me over in 1968, I've been a fan and a supporter of what many yet see as political lost causes.
Senator Sanders is the right man for the job at this time. He's not plowing the path for some future candidate of the people, he's the one.
And many, many older folks like myself grok that.

Re: “A legal maneuver could absolve Duke Energy of its responsibility for coal ash dumps

Phil Berger's front yard should be ten feet deep in his precious mineral, coal ash.

Re: “The Republican incumbent resorts to desperate name-calling in re-election campaign

Curious that Mr (or Ms) ProudlyUnaffiliated seems to make rather radical and unsubstantiated accusations about "corruption" that are not mentioned in the article nor backed up with facts.
I gotcher ""unaffiliated" right here. Nothing sane or factual or cogent to say about this race, so Mr or Ms Proudly.... has chosen, much in line with the conservative agenda, to throw up a few random accusations that can be made in a very few syllables.
After all, relevance doesn't enter the right-wing brain at election time.

Re: “Where "affordable housing" is a $269,000 townhome

Perhaps the answer to Raleigh's affordable housing concern may be found in shipping all those unaffordable people to the burbs.
"Raleigh, wanting to be the Manhattan of the mid-Atlantic"... OK... a bit cumbersome but you get the drift.
