It's not about the Latino vote, the reluctance on the part of the Republican is due to the insistence of their campaign funders. These are the big builders represented through the Associated Builders and Contractors of America, developers, architects, private equate firms and the national association of realtors.

As a construction worker, we have experienced pricing below what it was twenty years ago for those parts of construction such as framing, roofing, flooring, painting and drywall. All of these industries take little capitol investment and it has become overly simple to simply make one of your employees the owner of a fake company which the work is run through.

Prices are at a level where honest contractors can no longer get work. The employees of honest contractors can no longer get work. With the contracting prices less than they were twenty years ago and the cost of a house six times higher, significant profits are achieved by all but the folks actually building the projects.

Where four years ago we saw people paying their Mexican workers minimum wage, more often than not now they are simply not paying them anything. How do we compete with this?
