Don McLean & Judy Collins

When: Thu., Nov. 12, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $32-$211
These two septuagenarians are icons of an era when sensitive balladeers were all the rage. Of course, McLean wrote his own songs while Collins became famous for her interpretations. But don’t attempt to define either by hits. McLean has plenty of songs more penetrating than the Dylan manqué that he’s surely sick to death of playing by now. And Collins can cut Brecht/Weill and Jacques Brel material just as easily as she can transform tunes by Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. —Jim Allen
