Don Juan DeMarco

When: Sun., Sept. 12, 7 p.m. 2010
Price: $20

Cinema Inc. kicks off its 2010–11 series with this 1995 oddball featuring Johnny Depp and Marlon Brando in a Don Quixote-esque romantic comedy. Depp plays a man convinced he is Don Juan, the world's greatest lover, and Brando is the shrink out to cure him who finds his own marriage with Faye Dunaway revitalized in the process. Depp, who won the London Film Critics Circle Award for best actor for this part, got along well enough with Brando that Depp cast him in his never-to-be-released-theatrically-in-the-U.S. directorial debut, The Brave. It's an odd tale with a particularly cheesy Bryan Adams number, "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?," played throughout. Pony up $20 and get admission to all 12 of Cinema Inc.'s films for this season, which include Pandora's Box with Louise Brooks and The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. —Zack Smith
