Don Jamieson

When: Sat., Nov. 17, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: $10-12

Stand-up comedian and television personality Don Jamieson hosts this evening of hard rock. Jamieson is the co-host of VH1 Classic's hard rock talk show That Metal Show, meaning he references Poison and Kiss, Journey and Twisted Sister in his stand-up routine between jokes about sex and stereotypes. Tonight, Jamieson's appearance accompanies five local metal acts, varying from Broadslab's swings between Sabbath-psych and grimy swamp-metal to Fall River Massacre's millennial death metal. Black Market Special leans toward modern rock melody, while Dark Design steers toward classicist melodrama. Devyce carves growling groove-metal, probably with the "y' in their name. The 8 p.m. mix of music and talk costs $10–$12. —Bryan C. Reed
