For some of us, summer music is something that's supposed to relax and soothe, the ideal sound for shady hammocks and glasses of iced tea. For others, it's something loud and fun, the perfect soundtrack for beach parties or cookouts. For Dom, a four-piece group from the outskirts of Boston, it's both: On their 2010 debut EP, Sun Bronzed Greek Gods, this quintet dreams up fuzzy little morsels that are chill enough to be cool but buoyant enough to soar. No doubt their upcoming August release, Family of Love, offers more of the same and the potential to be huge. —David Raposa
