Dogs Eyes, Lesser Life, Bobby Orr

When: Fri., Feb. 20, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5
Durham’s Dogs Eyes charge the earnest delivery of emo-nouveau singers such as Touché Amoré’s Jeremy Bolm with shout-along hooks worthy of Gorilla Biscuits. They add a metallic hardcore low-end worthy of Terror, too. On “Serpent,” the lead track from a recent demo, they plead convincingly: “Burn a little brighter.” Indeed, Dogs Eyes seem poised to do just that. —Bryan C. Reed
