Dishoom Dance Party

When: Sat., Dec. 16, 10 p.m. 2017
Price: $10-$12

If holiday-related food and drink has already got you feeling a little sluggish, this Durham dance party will help set you back on track. For about four and a half years, DISHOOM has delivered some of the city's best and most boisterous dance parties, drawing primarily from bhangra, Bollywood, and South Asian music. DJ Rang leads the charge from the decks, while Saleem Reshamwala, aka KidEthnic, serves up colorful Bollywood movie clips that he remixes on the fly. Operating under the alias G2, Jatinderjit "Jeetu" Singh adds another layer of rhythm with live dhol percussion. Show up early for a bhangra lesson from Aditi Sundaresan and Ameer Ghodke, and use the rest of the night to show off your new moves and party down. —Allison Hussey
