Re: “A darker Knight

RE: "I produced an interview with the director of the film in which he acknowledges that the ethical complexities of his movie can be seen as parallels to present-day events in our world, thereby showing that it is not a "ludicrous assumption" for viewers to draw connections to real world events. Our reviewer is entitled to such a response"

---CORRECTION: You produced as 'evidence' an interview wherein YET ANOTHER agenda-obsessed wannabe political commentator pressed the director to allow A POLITICAL SLANT to be imposed upon the film.

...Just Like The Independent prefers !

If you would bother to READ the interview, you would note that Nolan seems to be allowing for this metaphorical tangent only upon the repeated insistance of the interviewer...

Of course, Nolan also references the psychological underpinnings and motivations of the characters ( as I did in my initial post, which you ignored as not being of 'ethical commentary', I guess) and Nolan goes into detail about Heath Ledger`s performance ....Apparently, The Independent cannot make anything Bush/Iraq oriented out of that, so it`s not worth much of a mention. Do 'ethical complexities' HAVE TO BE focused entirely around Bush/Iraq to get your attention??

Seems that way to me.

Well, thanks so much for the polite on-screen brush-off and the oh-so-clever sabatoge of my registration. It confirms something I have long suspected: The Independent can dish it out, but can`t really take it. You like poking fingers at others, but just get cranky and irritable when your own motives are questioned too much.

Clue For You, Sparky: I and my friends generally use The Independent`s movie reviews as a reverse-barometer for what is worth seeing and what is not...Your pretentious 'reviews' are an excellent guide to "How NOT To Enjoy A Movie".

So your reviewer is 'entitled' to perceive --and review--Dark Knight as being a comment on BushCo ? Okkkeefine... I only regret that I missed reading about "Speed Racer" being so bad because it was intended as an obvious cautionary comment on rising gas prices and the U.S. dependency on foreign oil. ;)

See you in the funny papers !
