Die Antwoord

When: Tue., March 24, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $27.50
The new movie Chappie, about a suddenly sentient robotic cop, is one of those “how’d-this-get-made?” flicks we don’t see much anymore. One reason it’s got people scratching their heads is because Ninja and Yolandi Visser, of the high-concept, performance-art rap group Die Antwoord, play themselves in it. They are colorful criminals who kidnap Chappie, so the robot ends up thinking they’re mom and dad. The media-savvy, quasi-viral duo’s more-than-music insanity’s so thorough that you can’t help but be a little moved by it. —Brandon Soderberg
