I feel so sorry for my sisters in the USA, perhaps due to different histories or other factors like class being a locked sister in the UK is not seen as a death knell for life. However I do work in the media which tends to be more avant garde, perhaps other conservative fields are different. I have had sisterlocks for 14 months and my colleagues both white and black love my hair, including my boss. Being natural is just as normal as being relaxed in the UK. I look forward to the day we remove the shackles from our brains and and appreciate our black beauty in all its forms, (skin tone as well as hair texture and length, issues which plague our communities in the USA, WI and Europe to some degree) when we do that society will have no choice but to accept how we naturally look. But for years we have presented to them a false image, hence the dilemma we find ourselves in when some of us buck the 'norm'. God bless you all - keep the faith
