Demetri Martin

When: Fri., April 11, 8 p.m. 2014

FRIDAY, APRIL 11 The employees of the Carolina should expect a hipster avalanche this Friday. The theater not only opens Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel, but Demetri Martin is the evening's main attraction in Fletcher Hall. The mop-topped, idiosyncratic alt-comic—a veteran of The Daily Show as well as his own Comedy Central show—is practically the stand-up equivalent of Anderson. Much like the acclaimed director, Martin entertains his audiences in cute but hyper-intelligent ways, coming up with elaborate bits and clever one-liners that should make the PBR-drinking, American Apparel-wearing Arcade Fire fans around here feel moderately amused. —Craig D.
