DB Brownbag Lunch: 3D Printing

When: Wed., Aug. 13, 12-1 p.m. 2014

Adam Rogers, a librarian of emerging technologies at North Carolina State University, fills us in on everything we always wanted to know about 3D printing (but were afraid to ask). Rogers will demonstrate NCSU's 3D Photobooth, a collaborative project by students from Electrical and Computer Engineering and Industrial Design. Not only will you learn about cutting-edge tech, you also can get yourself scanned and receive a file suitable for 3D printing. Designbox will even print your doppelganger for you (at a cost that varies depending on how large you'd like it to be). The event is free but requires preregistration at Eventbrite.com. You can buy pizza for lunch for $5—unless you're already state-of-the-art, in which case you can just 3D-print yourself a slice. That's how it works, right? —Will Partin
