David Sedaris

When: Sat., April 18, 3 & 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $50-$60

Humor at its best is born from the mundane, the little incidents we endure every relentless day. The behavior of siblings, inadvertently dropping something in a stranger's lap, learning French, opportunities not seized, birds flying into your home's windows—all such happenings are seeds that David Sedaris cultivates into on-point elucidations of life's absurdities in his many comic memoirs (the latest is Let's Explore Diabetes With Owls). His forte is bringing a fresh perspective to what we've all lived through. His satire will make you laugh; his ability to find the humanity in a scene will make you think. Having spent his childhood in the Triangle, perhaps he'll have a special observation or two just for us. So break out your finest corduroy and denim and get thee to DPAC. 3 and 8 p.m., $50–$100, 123 Vivian St., 919-680-2787,
