Re: “N.C. Supreme Court to review Chapel Hill towing, cell phone ordinances

I am astonished that there is no regulation. My daughter was towed last night from an apartment complex while parked in a spot where guests park (one of four near a dumpster.)
When she finally was able to locate her car, which she thought had been stolen, it was at Talbert's Towing. She was told $125 (cash only) by the person she talked to. She entered the premises through an open pedestrian gate to meet the tow operator. When she asked for some paperwork, who requested that she be towed and what time she was towed the operator said he didnt know and said 8:00 and she reponded she didn't park until 9:00, he got beligerent and said he could get her for breaking and entering since she came through the gate without being met there by him. No receipt was offered. Sounds like a scam to me.
