Cursive, Beach Slang, Megafauna

When: Thu., March 5, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $15
When marginal emo bands such as American Football are being welcomed back like heroes thought lost at sea, it’s surprising that Omaha’s Cursive isn’t basking in a newly lit spotlight. Their early ’00s albums, Domestica and The Ugly Organ, wore broken-heart shards as arm-warmers, detailing divorce and empty sex with confessional gusto. Their most recent record, 2012’s I Am Gemini, was conceptual to the point of confusion. Just pretend they haven’t been heard from since 2004, maybe? —Jeff Klingman
