Cuntz, Bandages, Midnight Plus One

When: Tue., Sept. 29, 9:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $5
The music of Melbourne quartet Cuntz isn’t as flagrant a foul as the ribald name might suggest. Instead, their sneering, aggressive British post-punk plows and pivots like that of The Jesus Lizard. They stop short of noise-rock and hardcore, choosing instead to swipe elements of both. The band’s new LP, Force the Zone, tightens the screws on the aggression and limits the chaos, so that the hooks are a bit more pronounced. They’ll pair well with Bandages. —Grayson Haver Currin
