Crushed Out, Celestogramme, Some Army

When: Fri., March 13, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5
Sharing and splitting vocals, guitarist Franklin Hoier and drummer Moselle Spiller drift in delight between the Delta blues and dream pop, between primitive rock and twee pop. Spiller’s drumming is primitive and visceral, with tom-tom thumps that elicit the same beat from your feet; Hoier’s guitar playing is languid and unsophisticated, allowing the pair’s purred verses and charged hooks to do the work. Celestogramme cuts wicked rock with entrancing vocals, while Some Army turns Southern rock into a steady, righteous smolder. —Grayson Haver Currin
