Couture for a Cause

When: Fri., Oct. 21, 8 p.m. 2011
Price: $20-$25-$50

How would Armani dress a homeless shelter? How would Calvin Klein clothe a blood bank or a kids' camp? Couture for a Cause does something like this. In Activate Good's third annual fundraiser, local designers are paired with local nonprofits and asked to create a couture and ready-to-wear line inspired by the "spirit" of the nonprofit. The designers who best represent their assigned causes win. Outfits are auctioned off after the show, and there's also a silent auction, with all supporting Activate Good's volunteer community and school initiatives. The event starts at 8 p.m.; dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and $50 with the preshow dinner. —Christina Cass
