Conspirator, Archnemesis, Sci Fi

When: Thu., Dec. 16, 9 p.m. 2010
Price: $14.50-18

Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein and keyboardist Aron Magner tag-team in the Philadelphia jamtronica duo Conspirator to explore electronic influences in which their main band simply dabbles. Enlisting RAQ guitarist Chris Michetti and drummer Adam Deitch of the John Scofield Band and Pretty Lights as sidemen for this tour, the long-running side project builds trance-like instrumentals as marathons in live performances. New Asheville duo Archnemesis blends samples with live keys and bass on danceable tracks that are heavy on hip-hop, while Wilmington trio Sci Fi tosses digital bits into its jazz fusion-based jams. —Spencer Griffith
