Connells | Pour House Music Hall | Clubs & Concerts | Indy Week
This is a past event.

When: Fri., Dec. 17 2010
Price: $15-$18

The Connells' combination of ringing guitar, strong vocals and insistent hooks allowed the Raleigh beloveds to rise to the top of the '80s jangle-pop wave. When the tide went out, they remained, holding eight albums worth of great songs, from the hot-stepping country rag "Curley's Train" to the beautiful acoustic paean "'74-'75." With the relaunch of their diverse catalog in digital form, their profile has risen recently. Raleigh quintet the Dune Dogs blend country, Southern rock and swamp-blues boogie. Also, Colourslide. —Chris Parker
