Colossus, The Beggars, Wailin Storms

When: Thu., Oct. 16, 9:30 p.m. 2014
Price: $6
Like a swords-and-barbarians B-movie, Colossus is goofy and fun. The classic metal act’s songs are ludicrous, campy and filled with guitar heroics excused by the D&D-reminiscent lyrics. They’re joined tonight by wide-open Detroit party rockers Beggars—think MC5 crashing a frat party. Righteous locals Wailin’ Storms round out this deliciously absurd bill with grooving, low-tempo menace that splits the difference between horror punk and swampy doom. —Corbie Hill
