Color Balance: The Paintings of Felrath Hines

When: Sept. 19-Dec. 10 2010

If you missed the Felrath Hines exhibit at Duke's Nasher Museum, you've got a second chance. N.C. Central recently opened the exhibit in its art museum, and you can catch it every weekday except Monday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Hines, whose acclaimed work was rarely exhibited during his lifetime, was part of the New York collection of African-American artists known as the "Spiral Group." He was known for creating works that combined carefully modulated colors with geometric abstractions. —Zack Smith
