Closer | Burning Coal Theatre at the Murphey School | Stage | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: May 8-11 and May 15-18 2014
Price: $10

If the ending's happy, the story isn't finished yet. In Patrick Marber's cutthroat drama Closer, which won Critics Circle awards in London and New York in 1997 and 1999, two women and two men—upscale Londoners, each in a whirlwind of personal change during the 1990s—treat intimacy, love and lust as a game without frontiers. One thing's for certain in this gripping work: When everyone conducts relationships like a combination of liar's poker, musical chairs and truth or double-dare, someone's going to get hurt. Paul Sapp directs a quartet of newcomers including Laurel Ullman and Miles Snow in this co-production of Burning Coal and She's-a-Nelson, which runs through May 18. —Byron Woods
