Claremont Trio

When: Fri., Jan. 27, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: $30

Twin sisters Emily (violin) and Julia (cello) Bruskin hold degrees in neuroscience and Eastern European history, respectively; they also always bring an energetic intelligence and joy to their playing, along with Andrea Lam on piano. Lam just joined the ensemble, taking the place of new mom Donna Kwong. They'll play trios by Mozart and Brahms sandwiching a 2011 piece by Sean Shepherd, the current composer fellow with the Cleveland Orchestra. Shepherd is known for his cinematic weaving of rhythms and colorist tones. The Claremont replaces Trio Jean Paul, which canceled their appearances because of illness. Claremont's Saturday performance is already sold out, but $30 tickets for Friday's 8 p.m. show are still available. —Chris Vitiello
