Re: “Sadly, Sidney Lowe will have to go — and then what?

"By the way, building a winner at St. John's, in New York City, or Pitt, in Pittsburgh, where you're essentially the only big-time college game in town, is different than building one here, where the two big bullies keep stealing our lunch money and pantsing us."

No it isn't. The entire country recruits New York, and last I checked, St. Johns plays in The Big East, which has plenty of competitive teams, every one of which recruits New York AND Pittsburgh. And speaking of St. Johns, they've sucked for years, so it must not be that easy. Plus they lose just about everyone this year, so Lavin is in for a treat next year.

Recruiting is a national phenomenon, not just a local one. Duke and UNC aren't keeping State from getting good recruits any more than they keep Kansas and Ohio State from getting good recruits.

Here's a about figuring out how to compete with Florida State and Clemson before worrying about UNC and Duke? NCSU was 5-11 in the conference this year. There are 11 other teams in the conference. They aren't missing another NCAA tournament because they can't beat Duke and UNC.
