After a hot and steamy run in Chapel Hill, the redoubtable Paperhand Puppet Intervention hops City of Frogs to NCMA's outdoor theater. (See for Byron Woods' three-star review.) Epic in scale and concept, this modern fairy tale follows the adventures of a young boy searching the big city for a lost lifeline. Bear in mind that this hour-and-a-half show stars massive puppets and organic music; with a 7 p.m. start (and a pre-show concert at 6:20), that'll take the toddlers well past twilight, but the rare experience of live outdoor summer theater is a true treat not to be missed. —Christina Cass
