Chris Thomas King

When: Sun., May 16, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $12–$15

Chris Thomas King of New Orleans is a musician and actor. The former child-prodigy guitarist has embodied the former role much longer than the latter, but it's a good bet more people know King's name because of his acting—most notably his turn as crossroads bluesman Tommy Johnson in O Brother Where Art Thou? If that's your only exposure, get to know King as a musician, too: He plays a dozen instruments, a versatility that enables him to take the blues in, well, a dozen-plus directions. Harvey Dalton Arnold, best known for his role in the country-rocking Outlaws, opens with his band. —Rick Cornell
