The Duke Dance Program presents its annual spring showcase of contemporary dance performances by several advanced repertory classes. Expect to see a combination of modern, ballet, African and jazz dance, with new works by Duke faculty including Thomas F. DeFrantz and Nina Wheeler, guest faculty Nathan Trice and budding student choreographers. The pieces share no thematic link, but past productions have all featured tight footwork and a range of choreographic voices and styles. Trice's piece, for one, has the lofty goal of illustrating "dynamic perspective on birth, growth, individualism and commune." How very abstract. —Emma Miller
