Chip Robinson, Jon Dee Graham, Mike June

When: Fri., Oct. 17, 9 p.m. 2014
Price: $5
Austin fixture John Dee Graham was an in-demand sideman after his True Believers broke up. He’s fashioned gruff Texas country and rock since going solo 17 years ago. His baritone suggests a less wry Ray Wylie Hubbard, inoculated against the bullshit. On the rehab ode “Beautifully Broken,” he denudes loserdom of its romantic veneer. “We’re not beautifully broken,” he confides, “just broken that’s all.” Backslider Chip Robinson makes fine homespun rustic rock with a wistful ache. —Chris Parker
