Children’s Birthday Party for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 

When: Mon., Jan. 20, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 2014
Celebrate Dr. King’s life & legacy in a way children can understand. Event will feature Dr. Charmaine McKissick-Melton who, along with her sisters & brother, was one of the first black children to desegregate Durham Public Schools. In a story geared for preschool to middle school students, McKissick-Melton will share her experiences growing up in a family at the heart of the civil rights struggle.
