Chicklette, Father Finger

When: Wed., Sept. 24, 9:30 p.m. 2014
Price: $7
A miniature music festival in the middle of the week, this five-set show pairs two out-of-town acts with three locals—the abstruse and alluring Secret Boyfriend, the serrated house of Daughters Goggles, and the headlong techno of Raphael. The best of the bill, though, might sit in the middle. New York’s Chicklette makes synthpop that suggests a slow sink to the bottom of the ocean, with beats pushing hard against external pressure and sweet, waterlogged melodies. Providence’s Father Finger is much more affable, with bright arpeggios and serotonin beats providing a platform for Kylie Lance’s phantom hooks. —Grayson Currin
