Chick Corea and Béla Fleck

When: Sun., Oct. 4, 7 p.m. 2015
Price: $47-$156.50
It’s hard to think of two musical wanderers more restless than jazz legend Chick Corea and banjo genius Béla Fleck. Their 2007 collaborative album, The Enchantment, showed how good it can sound when two virtuosic instrumentalists transgress genres with abandon. All those crossed wires really sparked, garnering a Grammy and starting a musical relationship that doesn’t see any possibility as out of reach. They’re touring behind Two, a double-album release. Corea can blend orchestral spaciousness with a tight funk and pop sensibility, while Fleck can make you think maybe Bartók was from the American South. When Corea unleashes a jazz scamper on the piano over ornate rhythmic picking from Fleck, watch out. —Chris Vitiello
