Raleigh's third annual Cherry Bounce stage at the Raleigh Wide Open party features not only some top local musical acts but also poetry, films and wrestling. Thursday, award-winning slam poets led by Dasan Ahanu combine for the Love vs. Lust Cabaret. The free show starts at 8:30 p.m. in the "Extra Gravy" room above Gravy restaurant. Friday is "Beach Blanket Bounce" with a screening of Lord of the Flies and some classic instructional films presented by A/V Geeks. The free show starts at 8:30 p.m. on the outdoor patio of the Sitti restaurant. And beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday outside Raleigh Times, there w ill be a day and evening full of music and professional wrestling. That's right: At 5 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., there will be sets of two bouts, including, as a grand finale, a 12-person, last-man-standing battle royale. This Cherry Bounce Heavyweight Championship, presented by GOUGE Wrestling, comes with an official belt by local sculptor Matt McConnell. The musical acts include Jew and Catholics, Bright Young Things, Bomba Estereo and Javelin.
