Chelydra, Map The Sky, Teamary

When: Fri., Feb. 20, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5-$7
Daniel Galván is a Mexico City rocker who collaborates with Triangle musicians to build the band Chelydra. The name means “snapping turtle,” fitting for a band that combines the prehistorically retro—a Farfisa organ, typically favored on old salsa vinyl—with pop noir vocals and heavy rock, a la Soundgarden and Héroes del Silencio. Durham synth-fuzz indie rockers Map The Sky and funk trio Teamany open. —Sylvia Pfeiffenberger
