ChathamArts' Halloween Horror film Fest

When: Fri., Oct. 22, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $5 ($8 at door)

ChathamArts gives you an excuse to test-drive your Halloween costume a few days early. Tonight is the Halloween edition of the Sustainable Cinema film series, and attendees are encouraged to come in their best costumes for prizes. Four short films kick things off before Fistful of Brains brings out the big guns. The story centers on two brothers, maintainers of rival zombie armies, and what happens when their town gets overrun by the undead. Director Christine Parker hails from Sanford and shot the film in Smithfield. She'll be on hand to answer questions about the film, which won Best Horror Feature at Hauntcon 2009. Spinning tunes at the after-party is DJ Mouse, former resident deejay at Durham's Ringside; hang around for the Zombie vs. Vampire Dance Off. —Sarah Ewald
