Re: “UNC's slow-moving football scandal has its roots in decisions made 60 years ago

The unbelievable Tarheel partisanship of the INDEPENDENT is becoming a joke. First off, portraying a UNC football player as a martyr on the cover is beyond poor the point of absurdity. Secondly, the fact that the final summarizing statement is

"Neutrals considering a trip to the stadium to take in a game this fall might understandably feel less enthused about supporting Carolina's on-probation football team or State's team, with its low graduation rate. " just sad and pathetic. Really? In an article about UNC's academic take a shot at NC State's football graduation rate? Hey...ever thought that the reason UNC's graduation rate was higher, and NC State's is what it is, related to the fact that NC State football players actually go to REAL classes!

Next time you to cover a scandal at UNC, perhaps you should enlist an NC State they seem to be the only ones that actually paid attention to the facts in this case...even in the midst of the head-in-sand UNC fans and local/national media bent on ignoring the issue, in hopes of protecting their baby-blue darlings. It was the excellent research of NC State grads that forced the local and national media to finally pay attention to the rampant cheating at UNC.
