A few years back I heard an NPR segment about the Chocolate Drops and discovered they would be playing at The Atlanta History Center. I drove up from Miami for the show and was totally blown away. As a vintage Taj Mahal/roots guy I actually felt a little vindicated by the young folks going my way. A few years later I made the trip to Boone, NC for Black Banjo...A fascination that began in the 60s when my parents advised me that all the songs on a Lovin' Spoonful album were old black country stuff will continue with Arizona Red's new one.
