Charanga Carolina

When: Tue., Nov. 17, 7:30 p.m. 2015
Price: free
There’s never been a better time for Latin grooves at UNC. Charanga Carolina, led by David García, joins up with the UNC’s newest world music ensemble, Global Rhythms Ensemble, directed by Juan Álamo. Featuring percussion repertory from Puerto Rico and Cuba, the groups will collaborate for a joint performance of the bomba sica “Juventud boricua.” There is always an aisle open for dancing to this catchy old-school fare. —Amanda Black
